Double layer 1/4 sheet cake with butter cream icing and decorations.

I went to a bridal shower for my cousin's fiance this past weekend and took this cake along.  The invitation was black damask with a coral bow and I used that as my inspiration.  I wanted it to look like a vintage package and I think I succeeded!

My favorite pillowcases are the cross-stitched ones I get at a local Independence Day festival almost every year.  They are so sweet and innocent and they remind me of my Grandma.  She tried to teach me how to embroider when I was younger, but I didn't have the patience.

A cake with a "cross-stitch" piped board, flowers, and writing would be absolutely adorable for a young (if only at heart) lady's birthday, don't you agree?

Aren't these little cups adorable?  I think a trio of petite cakes patterned after them would make for a great winter wedding cake.  Smooth icing with spare and crisp decorations?  Sounds good to me!

pixie cake

A 1/2 sheet of vanilla cake with buttercream icing and decorations for a little pixie's 2nd birthday.  This was my first try using a buttercream transfer for the image, I'm really happy with how it turned out!
